Leclerc Secures 50th Career Podium in Mexico

Charles Leclerc finished the Mexican Grand Prix in second place, securing the 50th podium of his career. The Ferrari driver admitted that the Virtual Safety Car period at the end of the race helped him hold off Max Verstappen.

According to Leclerc, his tyres had completely lost grip by the closing laps, while Verstappen was rapidly closing in. “When the VSC was deployed, I was able to breathe a little easier it allowed me to keep second place,” Leclerc commented.

Lewis Hamilton, who was also in contention for a podium, received a 10-second penalty for gaining an advantage by going off track in his battle with Verstappen and ultimately finished eighth.
