Formula 1 Eyes Qualifying Reset

Formula 1 is preparing urgent regulatory changes aimed at restoring the spectacle of qualifying.

Following the opening rounds of the season, it has become clear that the new power units and complex energy management have turned the fight for pole position into a tactical exercise. Teams and drivers have expressed concerns, as a fast lap is increasingly determined by calculations rather than outright speed.

Various solutions are now under discussion in the paddock, ranging from increasing energy recovery output to adjusting the balance between the internal combustion engine and the electric motor specifically for qualifying. The primary objective is to reduce the excessive influence of battery management and bring back maximum performance.

Initial decisions are expected to be made after the Japanese Grand Prix, with potential implementation as early as the Miami round.
